The trouble with most sports drinks is that they are very high in calorie content and suger. So, if you just burned 350 to 400 calories with a workout session and your drink is 5oo calories. You are a 100 calories over. Sports drinks are great for long duration workouts like a 5 k or 30 mile bike ride etc. Where your body really needs the extra energy from the sports drink.
