Troy M. Bonner
Troy Bonner is the senior member of the FFFC Fitness Team having served
as our lead instructor at several corporate fitness sites throughout the
Washington, DC area. A nineteen year veteran of the Metropolitan Police
Department of the District of Columbia, Troy is a master boxing instructor
and personal trainer with a unique manner about him that can make the
most unfit client feel like a world class athlete. An experienced amateur
boxer with over ten years ring experience, he competed in contests throughout
Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio as well as the DC Golden Gloves
Tournament. Mr. Bonner is available for private and semi-private boxing
lessons as well as personal and group fitness training.
Mr. Bonner is a native of Washington, DC and graduated from Bishop Mackin
Catholic High School. A high school standout in track and field, Troy
excelled as a sprinter at every distance from 60 meters all the way up
through 400 meters and ran the anchor leg on many relay teams. He played
recreation league football as a youth and was a member of the Eastern
Branch Boys, Latin Connection and Finley’s Boxing Clubs.
Mr. Bonner attended the University of the District of Columbia and is
a graduate of the Metropolitan Police Department Police Academy. He is
married with two sons and lives in Manassas, VA.
Uriel Casas, BS
Uriel Casas brings more than a decade of professional fitness experience
to FFFC having served hundreds of clients as a personal trainer, group
fitness instructor, elite athlete conditioning coach, and post rehabilitation
specialist. Beginning his career at the early age of eighteen, Mr. Casas
excels in the area of youth program organization and leads fitness classes
for both students and teachers at several Washington, DC area schools.
A student and a teacher of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, he is a competitive martial
arts combatant and is available for private and semi-private kick boxing
sessions as well as personal and group fitness training.
Mr. Casas is a native of Mexico City and grew up in Gaithersburg, MD
as a scholastic athlete earning letters at Quince Orchard High School
in football, wrestling and baseball. A starter and sportsmanship award
winner in all three sports, his senior season the football team advanced
to the Maryland State High School Athletic Association Playoffs.
Mr. Casas is a graduate of the University of Maryland in College Park,
MD with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and is certified by
The American Red Cross in Adult CPR. He lives in Germantown, MD.
David L. Jones, CPT
David Jones rapidly established himself as a rising star among Washington, DC area fitness instructors. After nine years in corporate America, most recently as Supervisor of Program Development at The Learning Channel, Mr. Jones left to become a personal trainer. A year and half later, he joined FFFC. Capitalizing on skills he learned at his desk job, David as shown an uncommon ability to quickly modify his routines to match the abilities of a wide range of fitness levels. A martial arts student with six years of competitive tournament experience, Mr. Jones is a three time National Bando Kickboxing Champion (1997, 1998 and 2001) in the 160-169 lb. weight class with a second place finish in 1999. He is available for private and semi-private kickboxing lessons as well as personal and group fitness training.
Mr. Jones is a native of Washington, DC and grew up in Silver Spring, MD a letter winner in football at John F. Kennedy High School. A starter at wide receiver, his team won the Montgomery County Division 3 championship his senior year. As a freshman running back at Frostburg State University, he was member of a football team that won a division title.
Mr. Jones is a graduate of Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications. The National Strength Professionals Association recognizes him as a Certified Personal Trainer. He still lives in Silver Spring, MD.
Karen E. Papanicolas, RYT, CPMI
Karen Papanicolas has walked the walk and is here to tell us about it.
Nearly two decades after she was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney
cancer and given at best a thirty percent chance to live beyond two years,
she continues to teach yoga and Pilates mat classes to dozens of clients
several times a day. A former health club owner and one of the original
aerobics instructors in the Washington, DC area, Karen is especially well
known for her core conditioning routines. She is available for private
and semi-private yoga sessions, Pilates mat classes, body sculpting and
personal training.
Ms. Papanicolas is a native of Washington, DC and grew up in Bethesda,
MD where she attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and played field
hockey. She attended Montgomery College in Rockville, MD and the University
of Central Florida. She is certified by a number of organizations including
the American Aerobics Association International, the Yoga Alliance and
the Physical Mind Institute as a Registered Yoga Instructor, Pilates Mat
Instructor and Aerobics Instructor. She is married with two adult children
and lives in Gaithersburg, MD.
